Our client is looking for an experienced planner to come in house. You will be responsible for managing the planning process on behalf of the Company on new and existing sites, to include:

• Coordinating preparation of planning submissions including planning applications, discharge of planning conditions, section 73 and non-material amendment applications;
• Liaising with local authority and external consultants, including external planning consultants, architects/designers, technical consultants and other professional consultants;
• Coordinating public consultation and stakeholder events;
• Monitoring compliance with and discharge of planning conditions;
• Monitoring central regional and local government policies guidance and advice;
• Assisting with the negotiation of Section 106 agreements and CIL;

Knowledge and Skills:

• Have experience of dealing with local authorities;
• Previous experience as a Planning Manager or Planner role with a residential developer or consultancy.
• Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the UK residential planning and development process;
• Willingness and aspiration to manage all aspects of a project, from initial site appraisal through to Section 106 negotiations;
• Will have strong communication and decision making skills;
• Degree qualified in Town Planning, Urban Planning or similar and ideally MRTPI or MRICS qualified, though APC registered individuals will also be considered;
• Minimum of 2-3 years’ relevant post qualification experience demonstrating site appraisal/negotiation/communication skills and knowledge of planning/legal process.

Given the responsibilities of the role, including travel to sites of varying locations, the candidate must have a full driving license.
